I don’t remember precisely. I think it was a youtube video page. I was wondering how to get to the transcript of it.
I think I tried first to make a small clip based on the description text of the video. To “get the link in Memex”. Then after that, I did the regular bookmarking of the page. Clicking the heart. I am new with the app, so I am finding my way.
My main use case is to set up access with Claude Code. But first, I wanted to see what can actually be captured in it.

I found that youtube video you tried, but i cant reproduce it there. Can you try on another one and see if you can make it work there?

I found the video again. (I see it in the search panel - sitting there with “unsorted” tag.) I could not reproduce that specific error right now in the tests I have done.
Leaving some associated comments - in case the “inconsistency” leaves any clues:
There was no notes on it - only the bookmark with the heart <3. So it seems that it (the bookmark) was somehow captured. But not anything else I tried. (Note also the youtube playback issue. A separate issue, I assume. It shows the same for another youtube page I just bookmarked).
There is also an inconsistency in how highlights are shown in the browser vs. the sidebar. I added a new yellow highlight (this worked). And then deleted it again. It disappeared in the sidebar, but still showed in the browser window. (I could call up the menu and it offered to “delete” again. I can’t screenshot that part).
After reloading the page, I now added a blue highlight. And left it there. This does not show on the live browser page later on.
These highlights were made with the description text expanded (after clicking “more”). I mention this because there are are some other small weird inconsistencies if trying to highlight the visible part of the text when it is not expanded in Youtube yet. This is in the nitty-gritty department (a workable handling is probably to not accept highlights in “that mode”). I state it to keep that “weird” scenario apart from the typical one.

Just for the completeness: Same inconsistency with highlights reproduced on a new page. I had just made this highlight. Then navigated away from that page. Then back again and the highlight is shown on the page, but not in the sidebar/content.

Thanks so much again for your thorough bug documenting. You don’t believe how helpful this is right now!
Spent the whole night fixing this up (its very late in asia right now hehe).
So what I fixed up:
Highlights in sidebar don’t get removed when deleting them via the tooltip in-page
Video preview for Youtube videos
Tag not being able to be associated on previously unsaved pages
Bubbling of search and edit fields with Youtube hotkeys
Youtube annotation bug(s)
What’s still to do:
Make it so that highlights anchor behind unfolds and dynamic content.
I just pushed a new release and it should be out in like 30-40min (v 2026.3.17).
Let me know if you find other things to fix and I’ll get to it right away!

I didn’t have time to look into any of it. But now when I made a note from Facebook, I got these other errors. (Yes, I got 2 errors from one action). I just highlighted one sentence in the OP text of a Facebook post.
