I currently do PDF annotation, etc. in Obsidian using extensions. As an Obsidian user, I wouldn’t see a lot of value in doing that via Memex. For my use case, at least, I’d prefer that the Memex-to-Obsidian pipeline be zipped up tight and implemented really well before the PDF-annotation-within-Memex got built and added complexity and maintenance burden.

Great feedback thanks!
As of the old Obsidian sync, what were your biggest gripes we should be considering fixing when implementing it again?

It's just the thing you talk about in your emails: feature bloat. Build the core Memex features first. Leave the commoditized features for later. If you can get Memex to be a reliable pipeline from Point A to Point B, I can annotate with a tool of my choosing. If Memex is unreliable because you're trying to do too much - which by your own admission was the case the last few years - then I just can't use it at all. And there's no reason to talk about it with peers, and your user base will not grow.

Very very true!
Yeah we are mainly focused on stability right now and planning ahead much longer so thanks for honing down on that point.
