the search engine widget is slow

I love the widget's existence but it only pops up a good few seconds after Google loaded it's results.
To search is such a frequent and intuitive operation, that having a few seconds delay makes me often forget the widget's existence since I already scrolled down. When I scroll up again, it's there and that's nice but would really prefer seeing the results before scrolling away or having to consciously pause.
